Arts and Disability Awards - 2012 Round Open to Applications
The scheme is open to applications for 2012, with awards of £5,000 on offer for disabled arts practitioners throughout the island of Ireland.
The Arts and Disability Forum's Awards scheme is open to applications for 2012, with awards of £5,000 on offer for disabled arts practitioners throughout the island of Ireland.
The Arts and Disability Forum (ADF) was formed in 1993 by a group of like-minded people who aspired to create a forum for people with disabilities in the arts. The ADF exists to facilitate the empowerment of people with disabilities through the development of arts and disability culture, promoting equal access to mainstream arts for people with disabilities (as both consumers and participants) and campaigns for increased opportunities in arts education, training and employment.
The Arts and Disability Awards is an innovative partnership scheme provided by the Arts Councils of Ireland and administrated by the ADF. The scheme aims to identify, encourage and nurture individual talent amongst disabled arts practitioners, helping artists to develop new work and increase their skills and employability.
Awards of £5,000 (approx. €5,750) are available for high quality, innovative and experimental projects in any art form.
The deadline for applications is 15 August 2012 (4pm).
