Launch of the Medway Innovation Vouchers Scheme
The main objective of the Medway Innovation Vouchers Scheme is to stimulate greater interaction between the University of Greenwich and SMEs in Medway to boost the company's innovation capability.
There is no fixed value, but typically each Innovation Voucher can be redeemed for work undertaken by the University in the range of £4,000 to £6,000. Projects of higher value will be considered, but enterprises will be asked to pay any excess costs directly to the University on completion of the project.
Companies awarded vouchers may be asked to make an in-kind or matched cash contribution, depending on the total project cost agreed with the University.
For this pilot there are up to 10 vouchers available for Medway based businesses.
Innovation Vouchers are intended to support an enterprise to grow, and can be used for a wide variety of support, including the following:
- Innovation or technology audits.
- Tailored training in innovation management.
- New business model development.
- New product or service development.
- New service delivery and customer interface.
- Product and service testing.
- Economic impact assessment.
- Efficiency improvements and process change.
- Supply chain management and logistics.
The programme is open to all registered enterprises that operate within the limits of Medway's geographical boundaries with between 5 and 50 employees, and either an annual turnover and/or annual balance sheet total not exceeding €10 million.
Proposals from businesses that have previously worked with the University will be considered and may be approved, though priority will be given to new collaborations for knowledge transfer projects.
The deadline for receipt of applications is 15 June 2012.
