Launch of Infrastructure Fund Worth £10 Million by LEP
Infrastructure projects are the target of £10 million being made available by the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership.
The finance comes from the £24 million given to the LEP from the Government's Growing Places fund which is targeted at removing barriers to regional growth.
Neil McLean LEP chairman commented:
"From our discussions with business and the public sector, we know that unavailability of finance is a major barrier preventing many infrastructure schemes from progressing. Through the Growing Places Fund we aim to help unlock those schemes that will make the biggest difference to the City Region economy. The Fund will also provide vital financing for the LEP over the longer term, enabling us to re-invest in future projects that will create jobs and economic growth, or lower carbon emissions."
Projects that the LEP may support include new access roads to development land or energy generation infrastructure.
